Delaware River 101 & 102

General Port Awareness Training

Delaware River 101 and 102 programs provide members and non-members alike with a comprehensive overview of our port as well as an entry point to the Delaware River maritime community.

Each half-day session is designed to educate new hires, long-standing members of the port community who may be unfamiliar with operations outside their own organizations, and even industry veterans interested in delving deeper. The program also benefits those only indirectly involved in the maritime industry, such as vendors and suppliers, who would like to learn more about our port and its commercial operations.

Delaware River 101 provides a high-level view of a broad range of topics—including a general port overview, vessel agency, customs brokerage, terminal operations, maritime cybersecurity, federal maritime governance and enforcement—and more—all led by speakers who are experts in their fields.

Delaware River 102 takes a deeper dive into the inner workings of the port. Topics vary based on participant suggestions and have included such subjects as labor and facility management, seafarer welfare, specific cargos (such as automobiles, grapes, and oil), and intraport communications.
