Subject: CBP Area Port of Philadelphia, Area Port Director, Cleatus P. Hunt, Jr.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is pleased to announce Cleatus P. Hunt, Jr. as the Area Port of Philadelphia, Area Port Director. Mr. Hunt has a distinguished career serving CBP in key leadership positions at Ports of Entry, Headquarters in Washington, D.C., and internationally. Most recently, Mr. Hunt served as the CBP Regional (Japan, Australia, and New Zealand) Attache’ in Tokyo, Japan where he oversaw CBP’s international engagements with Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. In his role, he served as a liaison between the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), CBP, and the respective foreign governments to enhance, implement or revise agreements, establish new programs, and identify areas of collaboration to address common threats.
From 2014 to 2019, Mr. Hunt held the position of Area Port Director, Area Port of Dallas where he managed CBP operations for multiple airport locations across Texas and Oklahoma to include: Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; Austin, Texas; Lubbock, Texas; Midland, Texas; Amarillo, Texas; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Additionally, Mr. Hunt has served as Acting Port Director, Newark/New York, Director of Preclearance Expansion, and Acting Assistant Port Director, Miami International Airport.
On Friday, December 6, 2024 at 11:00 – 12:00 noon, Mr. Hunt will be formally introduced to the Area Port of Philadelphia community at the quarterly CBP stakeholder meeting at the U.S. Customs House 200 Chestnut Street Philadelphia, PA 19106. The meeting will be held on the 2nd Floor in the Homeland Security Investigations conference room.
Mr. Hunt is eager to foster inter-agency and stakeholder coordination to enhance CBP’s border security mission and facilitate lawful and legitimate trade.
