CGDB MSIB 11-21 Submerged Object Removal in the Delaware River throught October 1

The Captain of the Port, Delaware Bay, is notifying mariners the the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) operation to remove submerged objects within Newbold Range, Marcus Hook Range, Wilmington Harbor and Liston Range.

Beginning on September 27, 2021, the crane barge NORTHSTAR 140, NORTHSTAR TUG 10 will begin submerged object removal operations in Newbold Range, then Marcus Hook Range, then Wilmington Harbor, ending in Liston Range.

Operations are anticipated to take place during daylight hours, Monday through Friday until completion.  Completion is estimated for October 1, 2021.

Vessels wishing to transit near the object removal operations should contact the operating vessel via VHF channel 16 or 13 at least 30 minutes prior to arrival to arrange safe passage.
