Hazardous Materials Training

The Maritime Exchange offers hazardous materials transportation training that helps members meet federal mandates.

The U.S. Department of Transportation and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) require that employers whose employees handle hazardous material/dangerous goods or related documentation provide transportation security and compliance training.  This course focuses on the document handling.

Under 49 CFR Part 172 Subpart H, all such employees must be trained and certified within 90 days of employment and receive recurrent training at least every three years.

Most one-day classes are offered in a virtual format.
