Effective January 1, 2025, TSA has reduced the enrollment fees for transportation workers applying for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC®) or Hazardous Materials Endorsement (HME). The TSA fee update includes decreasing the new TWIC enrollment fee to $124.00.

As applicable, please update your organization’s written or digital communications containing the previous fees. A complete list of the updated fees can be found in the chart at the end of this email.

TSA uses biographic and biometric information provided by applicants to conduct a STA for all TWIC® and HME applicants, and the fees cover the agency’s costs for vetting applicants and issuing biometric credentials to the maritime workforce.  The fees include the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fee to process criminal history records checks, which the FBI is reducing to $10.00.

New Enrollment Fees

Effective January 1, 2025 the TSA fee for:

  • TWIC® new and renewal in-person enrollments will decrease to $124.00.
  • Online renewals will decrease to $116.00.
  • Applicants that have already completed a comparable STA (such as TSA’s HME) will decrease to $91.75.

The fee to replace a lost, stolen, or damaged card will remain the same at $60.  ver’s license.
